CITI Program: Access and Complete Your Training

The University of Pittsburgh requires completion of CITI training modules for all individuals involved in the conduct of research. Visit the ORP website for detailed information on training courses and requirements, as required courses are based on the type of research being conducted.

Go to citi.pitt.edu and click Log In to CITI

The login site will have 2 options for login. Select the option that matches your affiliation:

Pitt users

University of Pittsburgh account holders with a Pitt username and password. Pitt User

U
UPMC users

UPMC employees or affiliates using UPMC credentials to access CITI.Other User

O
Other users

Non-Pitt, non-UPMC collaborators or external research team members. Other User

Select “My Courses” in the top navigation menu to access your learner dashboard, where you can open and add courses to your profile..

Complete Your Training Modules

Each course contains several modules.

  • Review the training material and complete the quiz at the end of each module
  • A passing score is required to continue

Complete the modules at your own pace

Access Your Completion Certificate

Once all modules are complete, your completion record will appear in CITI.

To access your certificate:

  • Click “View—Print—Share Record.”
  • Download or save the certificate for your records.
🎓 After completing a course: Completion Certificates are available to view, print, or share electronically. CITI completion reports are transmitted nightly — access to Pitt online applications will be available 24–48 hours after completion. Some courses may be eligible for Continuing Education Credits (CEUs), which can be purchased through the CITI Program.
